Michael Douglas shines in a character study of a man who reaches the top of his game, only to realize nothing lasts forever. Though driving home a simple and somewhat obvious conclusion, the film manages to present its points in a manner that is hard to ignore. The overall tone is sad but well-balanced with plenty of amusing moments and great delivery by an excellent cast which also includes Danny DeVito and Susan Sarandon to mention a few.
